Two People Suffer Minor Injuries In Two Crashes In County Last Week

Two accidents with minor injuries took place last week in Ste. Genevieve County, according to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

— A Chester, Illinois, woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 61 one-half mile south of Bahr Road at around 1:45 p.m. on April 18.

Michelle L. Rinderer, 49, of Chester, was driving a 2006 Dodge Caravan northbound on Highway 61. Dennis O. Dunlap, 76, of Ste. Genevieve was pulling out of a driveway in a 2018 GMC Canyon and failed to yield to Rinderer’s vehicle.

Rinderer was taken by the Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance District to Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.

Both Rinderer and Dunlap were wearing seat belts, according to the report.

— A Sikeston man suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash on the Interstate 55 ramp to Highway 32 at around 8:53 a.m. on April 21.

Travon D. Mitchell, 27, of Sikeston, was driving a 2012 Pontiac Grand Prix northbound on the exit ramp from I-55. He failed to properly stop at the stop sign and was partially blocking the eastbound lane of Highway 32, according to the report. A 2016 Volvo Conventional tractor-trailer being driven by Glenwood Williams, 49, of Bismarck, Missouri, struck the Grand Prix with its trailer.

Mitchell was taken by the Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance District to Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.

Both Mitchell and Williams were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
