Ste. Genevieve Attractions To Be Promoted On New Billboard On Southbound I-55
Ste. Genevieve’s new billboard on Interstate 55 will be simple, but eye-catching, according to city tourism director Sandra Cabot.
The Ste. Genevieve Tourism Tax Commission had voted at its January 19 meeting to pay $325 a month, plus a one-time art fee of $650, for a total of $4,550 for one year for the billboard.
It will be the top half of a “double-stack” billboard.
“We went with a little more simple design, just a fleur-de-lis graphic to kind of grab the eye, and not including a photo,” Cabot said at the commission’s April 16 meeting, because “it’s hard, moving at 70 miles an hour, to see what’s in that photo.”
The billboard will be southbound on the left, immediately after the Bloomsdale exit [Exit 157].
It will be installed by the end of April.
