SGHS Junior Selected For Apprenticeship Program

Ste. Genevieve High School junior Aiyana Evers was recently chosen for the High School Apprenticeship Program (HSAP) sponsored by the U.S. Army Research Office (ARO).

Through the program, high school juniors and seniors are offered science and engineering research experience alongside university researchers.

Evers will spend two months as an apprentice in Dr. Arpita Bose’s laboratory at Washington University in St. Louis.

Students are introduced to Army critical research areas in a university lab setting. Evers will develop skills and the background to prepare for competitive entry to science and engineering undergraduate programs, and she will have the added benefit of access to her mentor’s scientific or engineering expertise.
