Ten Ste. Genevieve High School Students Earn Honors In Word Fest At MAC
Ten Ste. Genevieve High School (SGHS) students were recognized recently as either award winners or honorable mentions for their submissions in the Word Fest Writing Contest at Mineral Area College.
Scholarships are awarded annually to outstanding juniors who participate in the contest, and this year, SGHS junior Regan Meyer was awarded one of these $250 scholarships to be used toward tuition and textbooks.
Those students who received honors in the contest were:
Eleventh grade short story: Winner, Regan Meyer; honorable mention, Layla Franklin.
Eleventh grade personal essay: Honorable mention, Erika Reed.
Twelfth grade poetry: Winner, Lindsey Martin; honorable mentions, Miranda Gendron, Austin Runyan.
Twelfth grade short story: Winner, Trenton Vogt; honorable mention, Tyler Austin.
Twelfth grade personal sssay: Winner, Noah Ogden; honorable mention: Abigail Bates.
