Joyce Wiese

Joyce Wiese, of Independence, Missouri, and formerly of Bloomsdale, died on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at home from cancer. She was 72 years old.

She was born June 24, 1946, in St. Louis.

She is survived by her husband, David Wiese; three children, Joseph Santangelo of Bloomsdale, Paulette Clayton of St. Louis, Benjamin Wiese of Overland Park, Kansas; and six grandchildren.

She was a selfless, giving woman who was always willing to help in any way possible. She went above and beyond for others, including donating a kidney to her sister, volunteering weekly at her church, and the ultimate selfless act of donating her body for the advancement of science. She would be there for you, whenever you needed her. A loving mother, wife and friend, she will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Mass will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, at Nativity of Mary in Independence. A celebration of her life will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at Elks Lodge 1705 in Festus.

Memorials may be made to the Hot Lunch Program at Nativity of Mary at 10017 E. 36th Terrace, Independence, MO 64052 with “Hot Lunch Program” in the memo line.
