Adult Education

CERT CLASS

The Ste. Genevieve County Health Department will be offering a free CERT training class for adults 18 years and older from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursdays — April 11, April 18, and April 25 — in the lower level of the health department. A free emergency CERT pack will be provided to all participants. Registration is required. Call the health department at 573-883-7411.

Organizations

SGCMH QUILTING

The Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital Partners will sponsor quilting from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following days: Monday, April 8, and Tuesday, April 9. Quilting takes place in the education room on the lower level of the hospital. All quilters are invited to help quilt baby quilts to be sold in the hospital gift shop. Lunch will be served both days.

Special Events

TASTE OF STE. GENEVIEVE

The fourth annual Taste of Ste. Genevieve event will be bigger and better in 2019 with a move to the Progress Sports Complex at the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center. The event is 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30. Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple and includes a signature wine glass. EASTER EGG HUNT

The Ste. Genevieve Lions Club’s annual Easter Egg Hunt will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at Pere Marquette City Park. Two age group hunts with plenty of eggs, candy and prizes for all participating children.

L’ECOLE DU SOLDAT

The Milice de Sainte Famille of Illinois presents L’Ecole du Soldat (School for Soldiers) on Saturday, April 27, and Sunday, April 28, in Ste. Genevieve. Presentations focus on events immediately following the French and Indian War and also will provide information to help historical re-enactors improve their personas. Presentations at the Welcome Center on Saturday include author Tim Todish on “Pontiac’s Rebellion,” historian Mike Dickey on “The Osage Nation and St. Louis,” fiber artist Deb Cambron on “The Latrine Hat.” Sunday at the campsite on the Jour de Fete grounds, Philippe Robert Hamil will present “What’s In My Pockets.”

CAR CRUISE NIGHTS

The Ste. Gen. Gearheadz car club is organizing cruise nights in historic downtown Ste. Genevieve from the third Saturday in May through the third Satuday in October. Cruises will be from 5 to 9 p.m., and all cars, truck and bikes are welcome. Event includes 50/50 drawing, entertainment and music. For more information, contact Brian at 573-883-6411.
