Building Issues Main Topic For Ambulance District Board During March Meeting

Building issues took up a good portion of the Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance District board meeting last Thursday.

Building 2 in Bloomsdale had to have its roof repaired twice by Joe Bauman Construction LLC, after separate heavy wind incidents.

“The roof was completed last month, but it was right before we had those strong winds,” district administrator Kendall Shrum reported. “They had to come back up and patch a few spots up. They didn’t get enough heat to seal it down good the time before. It held up real good this last wind, so hopefully, having that sun time, it’s sealed down good.”

Shrum said the initial work was done on a Thursday and the heavy winds hit that weekend, “so it probably just didn’t get enough sun for it to seal down real good.”

Meanwhile, the mold issue at House 3 in Weingarten has not been completely eliminated.

“We got the guys that did the work last time to come back in,” Shrum said. “They reassessed it. They took down that foam board, going down the steps [to the basement], they’re treating everything underneath that foam board because they were thinking there might have been some under there, since they didn’t take it down before, and treating everything under there.”
