St. Agnes Students Place In Patriotism Essay Contest
St. Agnes School in Bloomsdale participated in the Americanism-Patriotism National Essay Contest, sponsored by the Fleet Reserve Association — Ozark Empire Branch 316. The essay subject topic was Freedom of Speech. Three St. Agnes students from Cindy Fallert’s seventh- and eighth-grade class won three places in the contest. At the eighth-grade level, Sophia Varga, daughter of Tom and Debra Varga, took first place; and Megan Barnes, daughter of Amanda Barnes and John Barnes, took third place.
