Citizens Electric’s Annual Meeting Will Feature Three-Person Race For Ste. Genevieve Board Spot

Three Ste. Genevieve County residents are vying to represent the county on the Citizens Electric Corporation (CEC) board of directors, which will be decided during the annual shareholders meeting on Thursday, April 25.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at CEC headquarters, 1500 Rand Ave. in Perryville.

Marion Kertz is running for re-election with Nathan N. Naeger and Karl T. Schultz also vying for the spot.

During the annual meeting, board president Rich DeWilde and CEC CEO Van Robinson will provide updates, as will CEC’s power supplier, Wabash Valley Power Association (WVPA).

NEW DIRECTOR

APPOINTED FOR COUNTY

Rod Scherer, a member of the Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital board for more than three decades and currently the board president, was appointed recently to serve the final year of Scott Drury’s three-year term on the board of directors for Citizens Electric Corporation.

Drury resigned from the board voluntarily in the last quarter of 2018, according to board highlights in the February newsletter from CEC.

Drury was elected in 2017 when Herb Fallert opted not to run for re-election.
