WORLD DAY OF PRAYER

Women, men and children in more than 170 countries will celebrate the World Day of Prayer (WDP) on Friday, March 1. This year, the women of the WDP Committee of Slovenia call everyone to worship, considering the words, “Come — Everything is ready.” In addition to providing the opportunity to learn about Slovenia’s history and rich cultural diversity, WDP will focus on Jesus’ parable of the Great Dinner, in Luke 14:15-24. This year’s service will be 9 a.m. on Friday, March 1, at the First Presbyterian Church, 160 S. Main St. All are invited to attend. The annual offering supports the work of World Day of Prayer USA and helps families in Slovenia and other countries who are victims of many forms of poverty, violence and injustice. For more information, contact Joy French at 573-259-2238 or visit www.wdp-usa.org.
