R-II School Board Wowed By District’s Performance In State Tests

Standardized test scores again were outstanding for the Ste. Genevieve R-II School District, according to 2018 results released by the state of Missouri’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) earlier this month.

Dr. Paul Taylor, assistant superintendent, shared the details with Board of Education members at their monthly meeting February 19.

It had already been announced that the district had posted its second straight perfect score of 100 percent on the 2018 Annual Performance Report (APR), administered by DESE.

The district ranked above the state average in every academic category in 2018. The only category in which it was below state figures was ACT testing. …

The board members were pleased with the results from the state testing.

“You can’t do much better,” board member James Kirchner said.

Board president Martha Resinger said news of the perfect APR score was exciting.

“You can only imagine what we felt like when we got that text,” she said. “You guys are truly the backbone of the Ste. Genevieve R-II School District — teachers, students, staff, parents, everyone.

“We love you all, and thank you.”
