French Village Man Injured In Accident On Highway 67

A French Village man suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 67 in Jefferson County on February 16, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident took place around 6:44 p.m.

Ronald R. Birkenmeier, 54, of French Village, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Impala southbound on Highway 67 near Victoria Road when the crash occurred. Elisha E. Johnson, 53, of Festus, was stopped eastbound on Victoria Road west of Highway 67 in her 2012 Ford Escape.

She attempted to cross southbound Highway 67, and the front left of Birkenmeier’s Chevrolet struck the rear left of Johnson’s Ford.

Birkenmeier’s vehicle travelled off the left side of the roadway.

He was taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus.

Both Birkenmeier and Johnson were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
