HOPE BEYOND ADDICTION
The Ste. Genevieve Ministerial Alliance, a group of pastors and members of churches that comes together to share the love of Jesus, bring unity, raise awareness and minister to the needs of those in our community, will present the Celebration of Hope Beyond Addiction event to raise awareness. Addiction has affected everyone in some way. Learn what the body of Christ (the church) can do to help fight addiction among local families and in the community. The event is 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, at Hope Church.

PROJECT PIONEER
Members of the French Misplait/Misplay families and the German Schmidt/Schmelzle families are urged to attend the Project Pioneer meeting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, in the meeting room of the Ste. Genevieve County Library. These families will be honored at the Jour de Fete on Saturday, August 10, and Sunday, August 11. Along with family information, family members also are urged to gather photos of their earliest ancestors to be included in the books. Family information will be accepted at the meeting, and a review of the activities of Project Pioneer will be presented. Meetings will continue on the second Saturday of each month through July with the final meeting set for July 27. Family books will be available Jour de Fete weekend.
FARMERS MARKET
Ste. Genevieve County Farmers Market will have an open meeting for anyone interested in participating for the 2019 season. This informational meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, February 25, in the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center meeting room 2.
Blood Drives
VALLE CATHOLIC SCHOOL
A blood drive for the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1, at the Valle Catholic School gymnasium. FOLK ROCK CONCERT
rickoLus, Florida-based folk rock musician Richard Colorado, will be making a special stop in Ste. Genevieve at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, at the Orris Theatre. Tickets are $5 per person at the front door.
CIVIL WAR PRESENTATION
At the Tuesday, February 12, meeting of the Sons of Union of the Civil War St. James Camp No. 326 in Ste. Genevieve, Gary L. Scheel will give a presentation about his third book, “We Have Seen Hard Times.” This book is a history of the 47th Missouri Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. The 47th Missouri was mustered into service in the Union Army on September 5, 1864, and was discharged on March 30, 1865. Company K was from Ste. Genevieve, Company C was from Perryville, and Company F was made up primarily of men from St. Francois County. The presentation will take place 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, at the Orris Theatre, 291 Merchant St. in Ste. Genevieve. Enter through the Sirros Restaurant. Admission is free. Scheel will be selling copies of his book.

HARRY POTTER NIGHT
The magic of Harry Potter and Hogwarts will be celebrated from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, February 8. Costumes welcome.
STAR WARS/COMIC DAY
Free Comic Book Day and Star Wars Day (May the Fourth) will be observed at the library on Saturday, May 4. Time to be announced. Costumes welcome.

TRIVIA NIGHT/CHILI
The 2019 St. Agnes Trivia Night and Chili Dinner is Saturday, February 23, at the Bloomsdale Knights of Columbus Hall. The chili dinner is open to all from 5:30 to 7 p.m. ($7 for adults, $4 for children over 2) and includes all-you-can-eat chili, toppings, and hot dogs and a dessert. Win prizes during dinner in “The Queen’s Lucky Number” games. Trivia begins at 7:30. Trivia registration includes the chili dinner and one drink. Visit www.stagneselementary.org to register.

SNAKE SCHOOL
Rob Sulkowski, Missouri Department of Conservation agent for Ste. Genevieve County, will bring various species of snakes and let kids feel the snakes’ scales. He will talk about the difference between snakes, including venomous and non-venomous. The free event will be 6 to 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, and is open to ages 12 and under.
SPRING GARAGE SALE

WORKOUT FOR ST. JUDE
The annual Workout for St. Jude event will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, April 26. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for shopping with various vendors. Cost is $15 per ticket in cash or check made out to St. Jude. All proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Drinks and snacks provided.
BRIDAL SHOW
The inaugural Bridal Show will be Sunday, April 28, from noon to 4 p.m., offering an opportunity for brides to compare services and prices, register for prizes, see unique ideas and experience the latest trends in fashion and weddings. YOUNG MOTHERS
The Young Mothers Support Group will meet 5 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month in the lower level of the Ste Genevieve County Health Department. The support group is for mothers who are expecting a child or have children under the age of 5. The group is facilitated by Robin Reynolds. New members are welcome. AL-ANON MEETING
Al-Anon meets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings in the basement of the Church of Ste. Genevieve Parish Center on Fourth Street. Attendees should use the Merchant Street entrance marked Adoration Chapel. Al-Anon members are invited on the last Thursday of the month to join the open meeting of the local AA group, which takes place at the Ste. Genevieve County University of Missouri Extension Office, at 255 Market St. Entry is through the right rear entrance at the extension office.
