Loretta R. Brischle
Loretta R. Brischle of Ste. Genevieve died on Friday, December 28, 2018, at The Arbors at Parkwood Meadows in Ste. Genevieve. She was 94 years old.
She was born April 30, 1924, in Ste. Genevieve, a daughter of Thomas Flieg and Dora (Bauman) Flieg.
She was married to August I. Brischle on May 1, 1946, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Brischle and his wife Jean of Ste. Genevieve, Allen Brischle and his wife Elaine of Ste. Genevieve; six grandchildren, Kelly Gegg and her husband Joe, Sarah Viox and her husband Todd, Erin Wrather and her husband Michael, Christopher Brischle and his wife Theresa, Amanda Horstmann and her husband Gabe, Julie Gegg and her husband Adam; and nine great-grandchildren, Jayden, Tyler, Carter, Aven, Kylen, Natalie, Kaylee, Madalyn and Leo.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Oswald Flieg, Leonard “Peegee” Flieg, Ernest Flieg, Glennon “Boody” Flieg; two sisters, Wilma Brieg, Olivia Flieg; and one grandchild, Dean Brischle.
She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, VFW Auxiliary, and Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking and baking, and watching “Gunsmoke” and “Bonanza” on television.
Funeral services were Monday, December 31, at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Weingarten. Rev. Francis Koeninger officiated. Burial was at Our Lady Help of Christians in Weingarten. Basler Funeral Home of Ste. Genevieve handled the arrangements.
