Kavaliauskas, Kinsky File For Health Board

Robert Kavaliauskas and Carl Kinsky have filed for seats on the Ste. Genevieve County Health Department board since the first of the year, meaning any additional filings will result in a contested election for the board.

There are three seats open — two four-year terms and the remaining two years of the term that came open when David Woods resigned from the board after 10 years.

The Ste. Genevieve County Commission tabbed Kinsky to succeed Woods once Kinsky’s term as prosecuting attorney ended on December 31, 2018.

The commission earlier had appointed Jeanette Wood, longtime administrator of Riverview at the Park Care and Rehabilitation Center, to the seat that Susie Bach resigned earlier this year. That seat is up for election on its four-year cycle this April, and Wood has filed for it.

The other four-year term up for election currently is held by Lisa Jokerst.

Filing for the election ends on Tuesday, January 15.

See the complete list of filings in the January 9 edition of the Herald.
