When it comes to the football playoffs it’s not often a team gets to host five games in a row, but that will be the case for Valle.

After a 15-14 comeback win over Thayer in the state quarterfinals the Warriors have returned to the state semifinals. Up next is Mid-Buchanan, which is also 12-1, on Saturday.

“We know they’ve got some good players whose only loss was against Lathrop, who is a really good football team,” said Valle head coach Judd Naeger. “We’ll look at film and go to work. We’ll put together a plan and roll the football out there again Saturday.”

Lathrop, which is in the Class 2 semifinals, walloped Mid-Buchanan 49-0 in Week 3. Despite that defeat the Dragons have shut out five of their opponents this season and they routed South Harrison at home 35-8 in the state quarterfinals. In the postseason Mid-Buchanan also defeated Polo 55-8, East Buchanan 49-22 and Penney-Hamilton 20-14.
