It was already an historic night for Valle’s wrestling program Friday when the Warriors hosted their first meet in their sixth season as a program.

Trey Huck added another historic moment for the program.

The senior became the first Warriors wrestler to win 100 matches in program history, and Valle finished its three-team match with a win and a loss.

Valle fell to Festus 59-17, as the Tigers won four bouts by forfeit.

The Warriors triumphed over St. Francis Borgia 45-6.

“We had a great turnout, which is awesome for the school,” Valle coach Jake Gegg said. “Parents, fellow athletes and alumni got out and showed their support for wrestling.

“That’s huge, and hopefully it will draw some interest from some of the younger kids and showcase the hard work some of those kids have been putting in for a while.”
