It wasn’t always pretty, but sometimes it was electrifying, as Valle Catholic defeated I-55 Conference rival Jefferson R-7 44-13 on Friday night at Father John Dempsey Field.

The Warriors (5-1) put the ball on the ground eight times, losing only two fumbles, but still racked up 476 yards of offense.

Freshman quarterback Chase Fallert ran for three touchdowns, including a 75-yard run when he made several cuts through the Jefferson defense; junior running back C.J. Stoll ran for two, including an 84-yard scoring jaunt; and senior running back Collin Grass added the final touchdown.

Three times Valle had bad snaps, on top of some other miscues that halted drives.

The Warriors (5-1, 4-0 in the I-55 Conference) scored on four of their first eight drives in the first half before settling for Kolten Naeger’s 29-yard field goal — and 31-6 lead — on its final drive of the first half.

“We did some good things, and we did some things we’ve got to work on,” Valle coach Judd Naeger said. “We need to get those things fixed. We have an issue getting in the right play, we’re having an issue with those snaps. We’ll have to see what’s going on there.”
