To the Editor:

More than 100,000 Missouri children have now been dropped from their Medicaid coverage, despite continuing to be eligible.

Governor Mike Parson and his appointees, including MO HealthNet director Todd Richardson, keep trying to persuade Missourians that Missouri’s precipitous drop in Medicaid enrollees is in line with national trends. However, the evidence indicates otherwise: Missouri’s drop in enrollment is 2.5 times the national average, and we are now the fifth-worst state in the nation for child enrollment.

I hope my fellow Missourians will be smart enough to see past the smoke and mirrors of this administration. What is happening to our state’s low-income children is not normal, is not in line with national trends and is not OK.

Governor Parson, there’s quite a lot to see here. What will it take for you to see it?
