Mary Louise Kertz of Ste. Genevieve died on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at The Arbors at Parkwood Meadows in Ste. Genevieve. She was 83 years old.
She was born January 8, 1936, in River aux Vases, a daughter of Raymond L Basler and Rose May (Schweigert) Basler.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Govero and her husband John of Festus, Brenda Basler and her husband Junie of Bloomsdale; one stepson, Chris Kertz and his wife Linda of Ste. Genevieve; two stepdaughters, Janet Hermann and her husband Bob of Imperial, Doris Steinbecker and her husband Dave of Perryville; six brothers, Raymond “Schnay” Basler and his wife Jeanette of Ste. Genevieve, Marvin Basler and his wife Loretta of Ste. Genevieve, Arthur “Porky” Basler of Ste. Genevieve, Robert Basler and his wife Gloria Ann of River aux Vases, Lawrence “Larry” Basler and his wife Gloria Jean of Ste. Genevieve, Kenneth “Kenny” Basler of Ste. Genevieve; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert “Buddy” Burgert Jr.; her second husband, Clarence J. Kertz; one stepson, Dale Kertz; and two sisters, Margaret Samson and Jeanie Eans.
She was a member of VFW Auxiliary, and she loved to sing and dance.
Funeral services were Monday, June 10, at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. Rev. Robert Samson officiated. Burial was at Valle Spring Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve. Basler Funeral Home of Ste. Genevieve handled the arrangements.
