Joseph R. Naeger of Ste. Genevieve died on Friday, June 14, 2019, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis. He was 76 years old.
He was born January 14, 1943 in Ste. Genevieve, a son of Raymond Naeger and Rose (Herzog) Naeger.
He is survived by two sons, Joshua Naeger of Cape Girardeau, Judd Naeger and his wife Cara of Bloomsdale; one daughter, Jennifer Naeger of Denver, Colorado; the mother of his children, Jane Naeger of Ste. Genevieve; three brothers, Charlie Naeger of St. Louis; Tom Naeger of St. Louis, John Naeger and his wife Brenda of St. Louis; five sisters, Rosemary Miriani and her husband David of St. Louis, Marie Carron of Bloomsdale, Margie Schweigert and her husband Lloyd of Ste. Genevieve, Lori Kertz of St. Louis, Jeannie Bahr and her husband Wayne of Ste. Genevieve; and three grandchildren, Charlotte, Bronco and Junior Naeger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Eldon Carron
He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1037. He loved his family, God, Valle football; and he loved to make people laugh.
Visitation was scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, and 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. Rev. Edward Nemeth will officiate. Military services will be performed by VFW Post 2210. Basler Funeral Home provided the arrangements.
