Anthony L. Basler of Ste. Genevieve died on Sunday, July 28, 2019, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was 88 years old.
He was born November 15, 1930 in Ste. Genevieve, a son of Edwin Basler and Ursula (Vaeth) Basler
He was married to Sylvia (Carron) Basler on September 7, 1959, and she survives in Ste. Genevieve.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Lawrence Basler of Ste. Genevieve; one daughter, Kathryn Phipps and her husband Jeff of Houston, Texas; one grandson, Kyle Phipps of Kansas City, Missouri; and one granddaughter, Payton Phipps of Houston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a veteran of U.S. Air Force, having served from 1951 to 1955 in aerial refueling.
He was a dedicated farmer, husband and father.
Funeral services were Friday, August 2, at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. Rev. Edward Nemeth officiated. Burial was at Valle Spring Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve with military graveside services performed by VFW Post 2210. Basler Funeral Home of Ste. Genevieve handled the arrangements.
