Joyce M. (Yallaly) Conway

Joyce M. (Yallaly) Conway of Ste. Genevieve died Monday, June 22, 2009 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. She was 75 years old.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 29, 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, in Ozora, with Reverend James Schaefer officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Basler Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

She was born May 1, 1934, in Ste. Genevieve, a daughter of Kenrick and Mary (Hubert) Yallaly.

She was married to Harry Conway in Hawaii in 1979. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Eric Rios of Ste. Geneveive and Dennis Boggan and his wife,

Cindy, of Modesto, California; a brother, Harold Yallaly and his wife, Milla, of San Bruno, California; and two sisters, Grace Huff of St. Louis and Helen Oliver of Modesto, California. She also is survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Leonard Yallaly; and three sisters, Kathline Thieret, Roberta Yallaly and Doris Holiday.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Ste. Genevieve Elks Lodge #2674.

The family requests memorials for family use.

Barbara F. (Gendron) Brown

Barbara F. (Gendron) Brown of St. Mary died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City. She was 78 years old.

A chapel service was held Friday June 26, 10 a.m. at Basler Funeral Home in St. Mary with Reverend Gregory Klump officiating. Burial was in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Basler Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

She was born September 25, 1930, in Kaskaskia, Illinois, a daughter of Lawrence and Marie (Layton) Gendron.

She was married to Norman Brown on June 1, 1950 and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Larry Brown and his wife, Brenda, of Perryville; two daughters, Mary (Mrs. Daniel) Martin of St. Mary and Connie (Mrs. Paul) Sievers of Ballwin, Missouri; a brother, Morris Layton and his wife, Irene, of St. Mary; and a sister, Lyla Bova of Ste. Genevieve. She also is survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death byher parents and a brother, Lawrence Gendron.

The family requests memorials to the Kaskaskia Cemetery Fund.

Robert L. White

Robert L. White of Ozora died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 in Ozora. He was 63 years old.

A chapel service was held Saturday, June 27, 11 a.m. at Basler Funeral Home with Reverend James Schaefer officiating. Basler Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

He was born January 19, 1946, in Hazelton, Indiana, a son of Noah C. and Mary Frances (Smith) White.

He was married to Carol A. (Litterest) White on February 6, 1997 and she survives in Ozora.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Robert Lee White and his wife, Kim, of Barrie, Ontario. Canada and James Newton White of Steelville, Missouri; a stepson, Jeremy Heberlie and his wife, Heidi, of Ste. Genevieve; a stepdaughter, Carrie (Mrs. Connor) Waddell of Cleveland, Ohio; and three brothers, Winford White of Sylvia, Missouri, Jerry White of Greenfield, Indiana and Harry E. White of House Springs, Missouri. He also is survived by six grandchildren.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Brian White; and three brothers, Noah, William and Floyd White.

Mr. White was a member of the Sportsmen’s Club in Ozora.

The family requests memorials to Jefferson Regional Medical Center Hospice.

Donald Gene Gamache

Donald Gene Gamache died Friday June 26, 2009 at his home in St. Mary. He was 73 years old.

Visitation for Mr. Gamache will be Thursday, July 2, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wood Family Funeral Home. A chapel service follows at Wood Family Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Kasznel officiating. Burial with military honors will follow on Kaskaskia Island.

Wood Family Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

He was born August 3, 1935, in St. Mary, a son of Walter and Nellie (Buatte) Gamache.

Survivors include two brothers, Wayne Gamache and his wife, Betty, of Ste. Genevieve and Larry Gamache and his wife, Margie, of Yuma, Arizona; two sisters, Geraldine Bruckerhoff and Carol Beauchamp, both of Ste Genevieve; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Gamache proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

The family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
