MLCO Coloring Book

Mississippi Lime Company was honored for its children’s coloring book, “Discover What’s Possible with Calcium,” part of the company’s initiative to teach children about the manufacturing of — and many products made from — limestone.

Mississippi Lime Company earned two Communicator Awards from the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts.

This year marks the 25th year of the Communicator Awards, with more than 6,000 entries in this year’s competition.

The first award was for Community News, a publication for the community surrounding Mississippi Lime Company’s Ste. Genevieve plant. Produced twice a year and inserted into the Ste. Genevieve Herald, the publication provides Ste. Genevieve residents with news about the company and the Ste. Genevieve location.

The second award was for a children’s coloring book, “Discover What’s Possible with Calcium,” part of the company’s initiative to teach children about the manufacturing of — and many products made from — limestone.

The book is given to children of company employees, as well as to students when the company’s mascot, Calvin Calcium, makes school visits.
