Julie Hurt wants her customers to feel like her restaurant, Julie’s Hometown Diner, is just a bigger version of the family dining table.
“Family is the most important thing,” Hurt said in a recent interview, “and that’s what we want to create — a family type atmosphere, with good food, [where [people] set down and talk.”
The location at 675 Ste. Genevieve Drive [Highway 61] has been a number of restaurants over the years, including Tastee Freeze, MG’s Eatery and Family Diner.
Hurt opened her restaurant in February of this year and just celebrated her grand opening last month.
“Everybody brags on the atmosphere here,” she said, “and they brag about our food.”
