Those who live or work in Ste. Genevieve County can now open accounts and get loans with Arsenal Credit Union.

The Arnold-based credit union recently received approval from the state to add the county to its geographic service area.

Two other credit unions, both small in size, currently serve Ste. Genevieve County, according to a release from Arsenal Credit Union.

Arsenal Credit Union serves counties in Missouri and Illinois as well as employees of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and their family members.

Ste. Genevieve County residents also are eligible to utilize services at Leadco Community Credit Union, which has offices in Park Hills and Farmington and also is open to anyone in the mining, smelting or quarrying industries; and Southeast Missouri Community Credit Union, which also has an office in Park Hills and also is open to employees of AT&T and its subsidiaries.

Arsenal is the ninth-largest credit union in St. Louis and the largest one headquartered in Jefferson County.

“We are happy to expand our reach into Ste. Genevieve County so more people can take control of their financial future and fulfill their ambitions quicker,” said Arsenal president/CEO Linda Allen. “Our staff is focused on providing exceptional service, and because of our not-for-profit structure, we share our net earnings with the people who do business with us by giving them the best deals, from better rates to lower and fewer fees. These financial benefits lead to a better life for people.”

Accounts can be opened online at or in person at any of Arsenal’s branches. A minimum deposit of $5 and a valid ID are all that is required.
